Thats tough, im too high iq for my region tbh, legit 99% of people talk about what other people are doing, celebrities, girls, cars, sports etc. I actually find that interesting to some degree as well but to some line, i can't talk about those discussions forever

Anyone who claims to be smart usually has a below average IQ.

Anyway, being authentic is important. If you want to change the topic, start talking about yourself, your life, your interests. Things that are going on in your life right now. Chances are they'll pick up on it and talk about themselves too, beyond the boring smalltalk. Ask them about their life too (without crossing a line/very personal or sensitive things that are none of your business). Conversations/contacts should develop naturally imo. Some people may be persons you wouldn't want to keep in touch with anyway. But then again, not everybody is interested in talking for hours on end, especially if they don't know you. If they aren't and you can't seem to break the ice, just leave them alone, without being upset about it
