How to improve confidence?

All day at school, I can't bring myself to look anyone in the eye because I keep thinking about how disgusting I might be, and it really bothers me that I can't stop thinking about it. It's so damn irritating that I'm such a weak piece of crap inside and don't have the guts to lift my head and look them in the eye.
