Why not jfl it expands your byzygomatic your palate and mouth width. Or just get a mouth widening tool

Mewing isn’t gonna save 99% of the people here, what should be done is install MSE and aim for 12mm expansion and hard Mew while the expansion is loosening your suture and then FacePull when complete

I'm using a hyrax appliance. You don't need to screw it inside the palate. And works wonders like MSE. And i can expand 12mm with no problem.
Unfortunately hyrax doesn’t “work wonders like MSE”. If it did, there’d be no need for MSE in the first place. I hate to tell you this, but I’m not going to mince words just because I feel bad.

Hyrax expander isn’t bone borne so any expansion you get will almost entirely be tooth borne. You won’t get the kind of increase in width of maxilla, midface, mouth, nasal base (greatly increases breathing capacity), and zygos, that something bone borne like MSE would result in. Hyrax is okay if all you want is a broader palate. But if you need to increase the width of your facial structure, it will almost certainly leave you disappointed, especially considering that at your age you could see dramatic results with MSE.
Maybe better in terms of better, more precise teeth movement, but you will get virtually zero skeletal change.
So if for the moment i can't get MSE, but can get it in the future, should i use the hyrax for at least some progress and combine it by welding fp anchors on it? Or should i just giga hard mew and wait for mse?
How narrow is your palate currently? And when do you plan on getting MSE? I mean you could use a hyrax in the mean time...I had an appliance when I was 12, and it expanded quite a bit but it’s different at that age because you will definitely get bone growth. For reference, my younger brother got an expander for his lower jaw when he got braces (not upper like me), and now I IPD-mog By like a good centimeter. And we have photo shoot style pics of us as toddlers and pre-teens and we had like identical IPDs at the same age until we got orthodontic work. The point is, if you use hyrax right now, I’m not sure if that would help or harm your MSE in the future. If you need a lot of expansion, you can get MSE multiple times.
I think i will get a hyrax with a maxilla support plaque, which means they will screw shit inside my palate.
The thing with MSE is that it’s so much newer than things like Hyrax, and the S in it stands for Skeletal due to there also being Skeletal expansion (something unprecedented in other expanders, including hyrax, in adults). So while it’s better that your hyrax will be screwed in, I don’t believe it would yield MSE-tier results. If it did, MSE wouldn’t have ever needed to be created in the first place.
Yeah i just need something to progress while i wait. If i truly want to get a cheap and well done mse treatment i need to wait 3-4 months.
