if you don't wanna go through your parents, and you need to use cash:

go to BitPapa (website) or Bisq (program)
you can swap gift cards for crypto (or even cash in the mail, but much rarer)
but you will pay high rates up to even 40%
i.e. £100 of crypto will cost you £140 of gift cards

kinda unethical but I used to do it a year and two years ago but what you can do is get a debit card or use your parents card and go onto a niche gambling website that lets you deposit and withdraw without kyc (verification) and then just wager abuse and withdraw worse case scenario is you lose like 15$ from 100$ but I used to do it and would deposit like 80usd and take out 75 and you can use Exodus wallet since it's a crypto wallet without kyc just make sure no one gets your seed phrase.
