Overview: This method is just a modification of eyelid pulling but instead applies continuous and controlled pressure to the skin just below the brow ridge. I got the idea from these videos of traditional practices like ear stretching for earrings, this approach uses a similar principle of mechanical tension to gradually increase eyelid hooding over long periods of timeHow It Works:
Science Behind the Method
- Skin Elasticity: Skin adapts to consistent tension by stretching over time, as seen in cultural practices like ear gauging.
- Collagen Remodeling: Gentle stretching stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping skin adapt to the applied tension without tearing.
- Gradual Change: Small, incremental force over time avoids damage while promoting subtle, controlled results.
Adaptation to Eyelid Skin:
- Unlike earlobes, eyelid skin is thinner and more delicate. This method uses very light weight and even distribution to ensure safe stretching.
Contraption Design
Materials Needed:
- Small Bulldog Clip: For securely gripping the skin.
- Soft Padding: Foam or silicone to line the clip for comfort and to prevent skin damage. (Optional)
- Lightweight Cup or Vial: To hold water and act as a weight.
- Water: Allows for precise weight adjustment.
- Optional: Adhesive medical tape for added stability.
Assembly:
- Prepare the Clip:
- Line the gripping surfaces of the bulldog clip with foam or silicone.(Optional)
- Attach the Weight:
- Securely tie or tape a lightweight cup or vial to the clip.
- Start with an empty cup to test comfort, then gradually add water for desired weight.
- Application:
- Clip onto the skin just below the brow ridge, ensuring the padded side touches the skin.
- Adjust the clip position to avoid pinching or pulling on sensitive areas.
- Movement:
- Allow the weight to apply consistent downward pressure. Gentle head movements can add dynamic stretching, but avoid excessive jerking.
Usage Instructions
- Preparation:
- Clean and dry the skin.
- Apply a light layer of serum (e.g., hyaluronic acid) to keep skin hydrated.
- Stretching Session:
- Attach the contraption for 30-60 minutes daily.
- Use the lightest weight initially (e.g., a few milliliters of water).
- Gradually increase the weight weekly as skin adapts.
Theoretically, this should work, but I have yet to try it. Anyway feel free to poke holes in this concept I just thought of the desgine like 10 minutes ago
