Consider using Notion for the electronic records mentioned below.

-Make the reading session enjoyable in any way you can (e.g., get in bed, eat dark chocolate, listen to lofi, have a coffee, etc.)

-Have a big paper notebook that you use to write down

in your own words

(no quotes allowed) insights from the book you are reading. After each page or paragraph, paraphrase the insights. Try to think about how you would use these insights in your own life using specific situations and people.

-Once you finish the book, input the best insights from the notebook into a document. Every once in a while, go over these notes.

-At the end of each week, put in a document the top insights learned that week.

-For each day, make objectives to implement as much as possible some of the things you’ve learned.

-Reread the best books you’ve read after a long time has passed. You may get 10x more value reading them the second time.

All of what you listed helps for sure but I think the only legit way to remember shit in the long term is by using this knowledge in a certain way regularly

For example that’s why you learn a language so easy if you visit the country of that language for a longer period of time. Because you constantly have to use the language.

I mean what's the point of knowledge if you don't use it

Having a better understanding of the world, i mean you won't use regularly most of your historical or economical knowledged unless you are studying one of them.
