The answer is money. Boomers had parents that secured a great future for them despite none of them being educated. Education is just a means to getting money and the only reason so many people have to do it nowadays is because their boomer parents destroyed the economy and left them nothing. Outside of the west, rich kids only go to higher education for status since their parents have already prepared a future for them regardless and will just buy them a degree if theyre not doing well in school
