Everyone irl asks me if I am okay and they say I sound depressed. Made a vocaroo post and people said I sounded depressed too.

I mean I am super depressed but how can I stop seeming that way I always try to smile and sound cheerful but my depression shines through. I am tired of people asking me "Are you okay man?" "You seem down is everything alright". Everyone always acts like I am about to kill myself irl whenever I talk

Even looksmaxers think I sound depressed @Ellipsis @bishōnenmaxxer any advice for faking a positive voice I can only do it when I'm drunk

I've been faking a positive attitude for the past 4 years. I just try my hardest to match the energy of people around me.

The best way is to just "stop being sad", although that is much more of a long term problem. Best thing for you to do is to accept your voice as it is, since the physical/psychological pain of faking being a happy person is far too much for the benifet of seeming slightly more NT.

I've actually tried to smile more at people when my depression was at it's peak and I felt bad in my gut and shit, do NOT force it.

Luckily my voice doesn't portay my stronger emotions that much (for better or worse), so people don't get that energy from me.

When you talk, do you feel like you're talking from your throat, or your chest, or your head (falsetto)? Where your voice is coming out from has a significant impact on how your voice sounds. They teach this kind of stuff in choir classes.

Usually, a chest voice tends to sound more masc, and the reason behind this is because talking from the chest generally allows for more bass frequencies to resonate out of your vocal cords. It'll take some practice, but switching and adopting a chest voice is attainable. At least if you still sound depressed, it'd be a stoic, masculine, "confident" depressed, not a meek, submissive type.

Yeah I might try that hopefully going on TRT will help too I've known guys in their 30s who sounded like an unironic Soy meme and then they sounded like a Frat guy after going on test. My levels are fucked too.

I have the emo type voice but hoping trt will fix this and I will try talking from my chest more like you mentioned.
