How to style wavy hair so it gets like this?

Like are these "layers" ? I'm starting to achieve that type of look since I'm growing my hair out, and I like preserving my bangs long so I can have a messy type of style like this on the sides

But when styling my wavy hair waves in random directions and then when I pat the hair with the towel it stays locked into the positions I put them in

not sure if there's any technique stylists use or what trims to get, so it looks messy in a good way as shown below

Mine are the last 2 pics but I think it'll work if its trimmed in different lengths ?

need some advice, I'm trying leave-in-conditioner, sea salt spray, and it only gets silky if my stylist uses a blow dryer

its just cut and layered in a certain way

your hair needs to be longer, ask for layers the next time you visit a stylist, and texture powder probably would get you that

I've never experimented with texture powder thats a good suggestion. Most barbers before they would rly mess me up or misunderstand, so I switched to personal stylists or a salon.

Yeah the thickness/thin of each hair strand also plays a role i think, ima try grow it longer get layers and sectioning too probably

yeah texture spray is very good, its not a meme

good going to a stylist, women do hair very well. all guy barbers butchered the fuck outta my hair
