Basically what you just said. Blowdry with sea salt spray, and some sort of heat protector. It looks like he's used a brush in the 2nd picture definately. Then apply some sort of matt hair paste, then blowdry again and then finish with hairspray.

These hairstyles look good for about 10 seconds to make a tiktok but i don't see how it's possible to force them to stay together for a whole day.

Environmental factors (wind, heat, sweat, time, rain) just fuck it up and so far I've not found a solution

I see guys everyday with these hairstyles walking around. They just use product to make it hold and blow dry it probably. There are tiktok tutorials on how to get the hair to be like that. You should see it here. I walk around here in socal and it looks like the guys hair is professionally styled for hair modeling photoshoots everyday. Much more intricate long surfer styles than the basic tiktok haircut a lot of the time too. A lot of these guys just have thick hair with natural texture like that and it holds. If you have thin/balding hair or really pin straight hair of course it's gonna look like shit and flop over at all times. Hair genetics are a thing of course

UK is a more challenging environment due to extreme weather, year-round high humidity.

The quantity of product I have to use to make my hair hold makes it look greasy so as usual, no winning with bad genetics.
