Hello both young kvnts and old kvnts. this is how you take accutane without any side effects.

My dermatologist prescribed me accutane but didn't tell me anything about how to use it without descending for a couple months. I had to learn this all on my own with the help of a few other users of the forum. I'm not gonna go over what isotretinoin actually does, I think if your looking at this you already know. All of this information is not a medical guide, but everything I have found to help me significantly. Again, I am not a doctor so consult a proper dermatologist before taking any advice on this guide. (unnecessary disclaimer)

Lets first go over the most common side effects while on Accutane:
- Redness
- dry lips
- purging
- nosebleeds
- dry eyes
- depression
- peeling skin/flaking skin

Redness
This is by far the worst side effect of Accutane in my own opinion, because what's the point of getting rid of acne if it just looks like your face is extremely sunburnt all the time.

HOW TO FIX:
- You need a good moisturizer (not some CeraVe bs) I would recommend La Roche Posay, it is gentle on the skin while also protecting it.
- SPF, I would recommend norse organics spf for this. if you try to put the wrong type of sunscreen on your face it will make things worse, so only use facial sunscreen to prevent further redness.
- niacinamide, this was recommended to me by another user on the .org and it has genuinely saved me. It works by repairing the skin barrier so accutane and this kind of balance each other out (accutane is very harsh on the skin barrier)

Dry Lips
The dry lips are not all that bad if you know how to handle them, Some people get them worse than others.

HOW TO FIX:
- Lip exfoliation (brush your lips 2x per day with a clean soft bristled toothbrush to remove any dead skin)
- Aquaphor (keep this on you all the time)
- topical steroid (it will be helpful to have this on hand as well, I felt once I first got on accutane that my lips were becoming itchy and numb, this is a symptom of a terrible rash later down the line. But if you keep any form of topical steroid on you, you won't have to deal with this at all. Also, not everyone gets this, so don't worry too much about that possibility.
- Omega 3's (omega 3's reduce dryness with everything from lips to eyes, skin and nose, i'm not gonna give an exact dosage just look it up and if you need more take more)

Purging
A lot of people have major problems with this one, but it is actually something you can avoid by 50%-90% with a very simple fix. I can't believe my doctor didn't tell me this.

HOW TO FIX:
- Oral Antihistamine (get a non-drowsy one like Claritin and take 10mg per day. It's crazy how much only one pill can do, i've had nearly no purging while taking this)

Nosebleeds
This is one that a lot of people struggle with and something that can get annoying fast

HOW TO FIX:
- Aquaphor/Vaseline (put a dab on a q-tip and rub it in your nose to moisturize, sounds kinda weird but it works. just do this whenever your nose feels overly dry. The omega 3's will help with this one too.)

Dry Eyes
This is another minor one with a simple solution
HOW TO FIX:
- Lubricating eye drops (no need for further explanation)

Depression
Some people wanna rope once they go on accutane, idek, I don't have this but a lot of people do. ALSO, if you have a sad lifestyle, accutane might be a wake up call. sometimes you get depressed because your not meant to be doing the things you need to.

HOW TO FIX:
- Just realized your ascending vros, your bettering yourself, dont rope, IT'S NEVER OVER. take the hopepill and instead of rotting on the org, go outside and walk around, mess with some homeless people jfl. Go larp in the city near you. take the hopepill

Peeling skin/flaking skin
This is another side effect that is avoidable but some people can't seem to figure it out.

HOW TO FIX:
- The omega 3's will help a lot with this one, so will the moisturizer. if it really bad gently exfoliate your skin when you take a shower. but if you follow everything else on this guide, it won't be a problem. washing you face 2x per day will help with this as well.

Conclusion
This is everything so far I have learned. I genuinely believe everyone should be on accutane, it has changed my life now that I dont have to use any more bs topical prescriptions. If you follow this guide you will get close to zero side effects. JUST ASCEND VROS.

Product list:
- La Roche Posay moisturizer
- Norse Organics SPF
- Aquaphor
- Some form of topical steroid
- niacinamide
- Omega 3's
- Oral Antihistamine
- Lubricating eye drops
