How to take correct mesurements?

How to take correct messurements for messuring philtrum lenght or dick lenght.

I have a ruler but the 0 starts between 0.5 and 1 cm of the surface of the actual ruler.
Is that distance to be added or not?

if some nigger used a ruler like this he and he gets 5 inches

and i would only get 4.5-4 on mine

So lets say. I mesured my philtrum is 1.3cm with my ruler which is absimal. if i add the distance to 0 it would be about 2.0 cm
