how to tidy/straighten eyelashes?

my eyelashes are long and curled which is good but instead of being neatly next to each other (like the teeth on a comb) they all come out at different angles and cross over each other which makes them messy and completely takes away from the good aspects of them. how do i get them to be neater and sit tidily next to each other? ive tried eyelash brush it just makes them look longer and more curled
