mirin the high effort response and the videoYou need to start with soft jaw exercisers, like silicone or rubber chews made specifically for facial muscle toning and then move to medium resistance ONLY if there is no pain or clicking, if you're getting pain or clicking on medium (and I mean any pain or clicking at all) you're cooking yourself.
Avoid shit like mastic gum or hard silicone because it can cause problems.
Only do like 1-2 sets of 10 reps per side daily and keep it under 5 minutes, avoid chewing for more than 10-15 minutes a day total even as you build it up.
Sit upright with your head in a neutral position not tilted or jutting forward in any way, and make sure your jaw is not protruding at all while chewing, this is very important, also chew bilaterally (both sides evenly) or you will look cooked.
After you do any exercises you need to do jaw stretches, which is where you open your mouth wide (not painfully, if there's any pain you've opened it up too far) hold your mouth open widely for 10 seconds and then close it, do this 5 times and then gently do side to side and forward movements with your jaw, if you want to be extra safe get like uhhh those heat packs on the jaw joint and give the joint a gentle massage/rub.
If you are doing dedicated training then you need to skip chewing gum, eating tough foods like jerky/hard shit, even nuts, because it can all fuck up your training. You also NEED to have 2-3 rest days, just depends on how in shape your jaw is already.
This is pretty much it.
