He is essentially exploiting his slow cousin for likes and attention!

Why do people not see through this virtue signaling?

Could be, very individual depending on the family.

However, I do think it's naive to not consider the possibility he the loves positive attention it brings him more. Take into consideration most people who use IG religiously have narsistic traits etc.

I guess it mostly depends on who initiates the cousins involvement. If the cousin wants to be apart of the videos and suggests it, I don't blame him. But I think it's more likely it's the other way around, considering he is already an influencer and these videos do well
