Grinded in High school and scored 95%

IMG 20251125 151705

Fell into COVID depression but still grinded my ass off in JEE to get a ~4,000 rank

Screenshot 2025 11 25 15 19 32 39 e307a3f9df9f380ebaf106e1dc980bb6

Still not satisfied and got an under 300 rank in another extremely competitive exam and secured the top CS seat in the most prestigious university in the country

Still diagnosed with depression but worked hard anyway and started upskilling myself

Dived into freelance work - day in, day out. Delivered project after project. Stopped attending classes and Academics took a hit. A+ turned into Bs and A-

The rejections piled up. Same template email. Same disappointment. Over and over. Cried myself to sleep almost everyday. Genuinely felt I wasn't good enough

1000123344

But I kept going and finally landed summer internships through sheer refusal to quit. not privilege or luck.

4425319 1000111328

And then came my dream DevOps internship I flew across the world for it, completed my degree, and graduated out of uni with 88% and with more offers than I ever imagined

I am the living proof that hard work pays off. There's no shortcuts, no secrets. Just sheer hardwork and patience.

I got straight A my whole life including my masters and now I’m slaving on 40k with no hope of ever getting more, it’s not just grinding it’s a massive element of luck and not having the arse fall out of your chosen career while you study.

Luck and timing are absolutely a part of it I'm not denying that at all. I did get lucky and Some fields collapse, some careers stall, and some people work insanely hard and still don't get the outcome they deserve. But effort still matters. It doesn't guarantee success, but it gives you a fighting chance

Im very happy for you. Congratulations.

How do internships work? Are you still with the company you interned at? You know, I met me a few interns in China. Dudes from USA doing internships with American companies in China. They were not down to earth at all. Looked down on us expats. Young kids usually.

After internships many companies give out PPO to their best performing interns which is like a formal letter saying you are hired permanantely and I do have one but my offer letter will come out in February. I don't know if it will be working from home kind of thing or they'll call me back either way I also have other offers from companies as backup.

I'm not trying to be all Robbin Williams in Good Will Hunting, but don't pass up the girl for the position. I'm guessing she won't be able to come with you.

Then again maybe two years or something isn't so bad to wait if you wed her first and have her stay with your folks.

Anyways, a good woman is priceless.

That's actually one of the main things I have to consider now. Even she is applying and trying to break into it. Hopefully we can work something out otherwise there's also very good local offers that I could take
