My boss asked me to join in on the closing of a deal, and I was confused what is an ITcel like me supposed to do in a high-level business meeting with top level executives? But he said it would be a good learning experience. He also mentioned that Naveen Jain genuinely feels happy when he sees young curry ITcels because it reminds him of himself something. When he arrived in the US over 40 years ago with just $5 and a week's worth of ration in his pocket. I asked if I could get a picture with him but my boss shut it down abruptly saying "Let's leave that kind of third rate thinking back in India."

His reply was rude. He didnt even let me speak. He told me to shut it but politely
I meant in terms of letting you sit in meetings. He probably thinks your request would be embarassing which I dont agree with but he is the boss so cant really argue with him

Yeah, I would try to get an autograph or something like that too so I agree with you there. Bossman is maybe concerned with optics, or he too stuck up

My boss has an ability to get things done . He's tactful and strategic in his communication. Confident, Assertive and direct but without ever sounding confrontational or aggressive even I wish to be able to speak like him.

Then you need to practice daily. Start with putting a camera 4m away from your face and speak about the work that you do. Also speak and present whenever you get the chance to do so. Worked for a guy I used to know. Blud is now PM at Honeywell

What should I wear? I was thinking of wearing my old navy suit with window pane white stripes
I’m not a fashionmaxxer

On special events i simply wear a white dress shirt with black tie and suit

I’m not the best person to ask for fashion advice at all.

No way this part actually happened.

The last thing a boss would do is risk his job to throw racist insults at interns.

Which city are you in?
Seattle. I have said this a million times until now but it seems like this forum refuses to believe Mumbai has access to an airport so evidently the boat loads of curries they are seeing must be magically teleproating to their location

Nice, another West Coast user.

Even though SoCal and Seattle are two separate worlds.

But feel free to tag me in future threads.
I don't want San Francisco. Those LGBTQ faggots and the rent prices are disgusting.

I don’t know why it’s hard to believe an Indian immigrant is doing IT work in Seattle.
It's not only that. He is straight up from a marvel movie. Only on this site you will find people like that.

SoCal is Southern California.

LA, Orange County, San Diego, Irvine, Santa Barbara. I’m from OC.

San Francisco is NorCal and much more similar to Seattle, in both people and weather.

His life is pretty realistic for a foreign immigrant who came here to study or work.

What do you mean?

Imo Seattle is better. I have stayed in san Francisco for a few weeks. San Francisco's rent is significantly like40% more and the housing crunch is worse. SF's crowds, traffic, and tech hustle is also hectic. The tech scene here is strong, but without the chaos, and nature is always close. Culturally, it aligns more with NorCal than SoCal-less beach, more rain, coffee, and fleece jackets.

I’m not here to defend SF.

Orange County is paradise and I’m never leaving SoCal.

But the few times I visited, it was pretty nice. Definitely more aesthetic than Seattle.

And there’s lots of strange people in both.

He is talking about my bench press and my finances. He thinks me benching 120 kilos is some kind of miracle and me being upper middle class with my own car and bike is unrealistic because ofc all curries are slum dwellers.

Indians are one of the most successful groups to be honest.

It’s just that they fall behind on non-academic life aspects.

But most whites in SoCal have a huge head start.

I grew up upper middle class but I’m aware that I was given a better starting point than any immigrant, and I admire their dedication.

SoCal has a big homeless population tho. I remember seeinf quite a few people high on fentanyl and other drugs around there.

It’s mostly an LA thing.

Not really a big deal here in OC.
