I have 30,000 points in star alliance partner airlines this year. I don't fly very often actually but when I do they are generally long haul flights so I get a lot of points whenever I travel. London to Delhi flight alone gave me 6000 something points. I am now in gold edge club and have access to free lounges, free upgrades and other benefits. Nice.

I didn’t know you traveled that often. How many countries have you been to? And why do you do so much traveling?

Generally for work. I work at a startup and in a startup they expect you to do everything if you have a bit of experience in management. Not many actually. Mainly US, UK, Australia, South Africa etc.

These trips aren’t as fun as they seem tho. It’s not really about traveling. I just go there, meet a few people, work, network, and head back to my hotel. Before I know it it’s time to catch my flight home. There’s no time to enjoy the places I visit. Traveling for work is very different from a vacation

Seems like a high status job if you have to travel that frequently even if you don’t really get the chance to do a bit of sightseeing. I’m sure it felt cool to come to the US your first time. Don’t let Los Angeles taint your idea of the US because I think it’s the state with the highest amount of homeless people. Even if you just went around to meet people, work, and network you’d still see a ton of homeless i’d think.

It’s not exactly a high-status job. The owner of the company trusts me a lot because I’ve earned it over time Whenever there’s an important meeting he either takes me along or sends me in his place. Technically I’m a software engineer but I handle pretty much anything he asks me to do The pay isn’t very high, but I get a lot of valuable exposure so I don’t mind.

It wasn’t my first time. My father's side of family actually lives in the US. In Chicago. And I know L.A isn’t representative of the entire U.S but I did see a lot of homeless people there. People told me California is dealing with a drug epidemic as well. Chicago inner city also isn't much better tbh

I sometimes wonder if I should just do a MBA or Masters in Management and do a 360 from my software role but it all seems such a waste. I have spend hundreds of hours learning coding and I'd have to abandon it all. Most people seem to do MBA because they are fed up of engineering from what ive seen.

Yeah Tbh. Majority aren't from CSE Background tbh. Those who are want to go into Product Management after Working 2 years in WITCH. As they are from Tier 3 Colleges.
