I attempted to reform my clear Essix retainer

I am supposed to wear my retainer at night. When I wear my retainer, it brings my teeth in very narrowly and makes it so I can't mew properly and it makes my smile look narrow

I took a break for a week, and my smile looked much more wider and I could properly mew, while my teeth were still straight.

Idk what got into me, but I decided to fill my sink up with hot water and let my retainers sit in it for 1 minute.

I then put them in and normally after a week of not wearing them, they hurt. This time, they didn't hurt at all.
