He did almost 10mm. But if you facepull as well you can certainly get close results. You’re also much younger than him. So yes very possible.

The difference between 10 mm and 8 mm is probably very small. It’ll still dislocate the sutures for any protraction though.

The sutures are still open after MSE for some time, right? Could you expand further with a normal expander afterwards?

Don’t see why you would do that and just not get a 10 or 12mm MSE

Apparently you can get MSE done multiple times.
Only thing that I can see going wrong is having an upper arch too wide for your lower (this is assuming you’ve already been approved for MSE in the first place).

Wait for real? Would both MSE and MSDO be done multiple times be a good idea? How long would you have to wait after your first expansion? Would it be dangerous to go for 2cm at once?

These are all better questions for @Sergio-OMS , since he actually does MSE.


There are three varieties of MSE, one that goes up to 8mm, one that goes up to 10mm, and one that goes up to 12mm. So you can’t get 2cm at once. Maximum 12mm in one go.

And idk if you’d need MSDO done twice, I’m not sure what the maximum is that it allows in one go. I’ve seen cases where more than 7mm is done, but I can’t remember the highest amount.
