its not that much preferable if they know what is what
non natives have gone through the same shit when learning a language so they can relate more to students
also non native teachers within the same country prolly come from the same background.culture as the students, in contrast to a foreign native teacher. therefore again can relate better
but yeah the halo of a native teacher especially in turd world might help
