Kinda impressive ngl
It's not good, a lack of sleep shrinks the brain. I have insomnia and I dealt with constant sleep deprivation since I was 17 (I am turning 30 later this year). A lack of sleep also affects your cognitive abilities (thinking, speaking, memorizing, etc). It's best to sleep everyday but I'm no stranger to sleeping after 30+ hours. Sometimes it'll be 48+ hours if I'm traveling since I don't sleep in airplanes.

I'm the same I usually stay awake for a whole day then go to school without any sleep does that mean I will still suffer from this later on?

It's definitely gonna affect you and shrink your brain, you can reverse the damage hopefully if you stop now. And I thought I was the only one who did that haha but I would recommend you fix your sleeping problem. Yeah we can do it unlike many people but it's bad for our brains, get sleep every night. Best to go to sleep around midnight, it's said you are more well-rested if you sleep between 12am and 5am compared to 2 am till 7am or 5am till 10am.

I thought I only did that to I even told my doctor to prescribe me sleeping pills but all they did was feed me cope and say I just need to do more things throughout the day to get "tired"

Yes, that's not gonna work. The only way you and I will feel tired is by staying up for long periods of time. I think we need to stay awake long enough before we can fall asleep easily. So, for example, me? I will sleep tonight at midnight or so, by then I'll be up for 26 hours. When I wake up, I'll probably wake up at 6-7am. If I stay awake, then by 2am the next night I will probably be tired enough again to fall asleep. That way I will have a good sleeping schedule. But if I sleep now, at 10:48 AM, then I will probably get out of bed at 6 PM and then I won't be able to fall asleep at midnight even if I want to. That might help you too, getting up early and then not going back to bed until midnight or something.

I do something like this if I wanna "fix" my sleep schedule for like 3 days I go to school without sleep cause it keeps me awake then I come back home at like 5 pm and try and stay awake till like 8 pm and then I wake up like at 5 am and then I just go back to my old ways again after a few days and have to repeat this process

You stay awake for 3 days? I've never done that. For me most was 2 days. I wouldn't do 3 haha. :p

Ohhh hahaha. Yeah same here, lmao. Even after I fix my sleeping schedule, I fuck it up quickly enough again. That's why I'm often awake for 30+ hours. What's your age?

Sounds like. You should stop doing this as quickly as possible, trust me. Learn from me. I am 29, and the damage has been so bad it's irreversible in my case. At least there's still hope for you.

No need to thank me, and I don't know about melatonin as I've never tried it. I believe it's best to fix it naturally instead of relying on things.
