I can’t work out what’s wrong with my teeth

My main insecurity with my face at the moment is that my chin seems recessed. However, it actually protrudes past my nasion. I don’t have a recessed maxilla and my teeth do touch when I bite suggesting that I don’t have an overbite yet my mandible suggests that I do. The only explanation I’ve managed to come up with is that my lower teeth jut forwards at an angle (they slant forwards from the base outwards) and in turn force my mandible to be positioned further back than it should be. My upper teeth seem to be jutting in some of the pictures but I can assure you that they’re not - I have checked this many times over. The issue seems to be in my lower teeth. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this or what’s it’s called so I can get help from an orthodontist. (Also feel free to correct me if that’s not the issue)

its ur recessed chin

its ur recessed chin
I understand this but I’m more confused as to why my chin appears recessed. My teeth seem to line up properly. My chin stick out further than my nasion and is arguably even slightly further out than my brow ridge. I’ve had braces. My maxilla isn’t recessed at least within my knowledge. I can’t find any clear reason as to why my chin seems recessed. My actual chin projection is pretty much in line with my upper teeth and when I pull my skin back it doesn’t look recessed.

You have a small case of teeth protrusion. 1st of all, Your chin can be recessed while still going past your nasion. Its just your pogonion being set forward (means you have good forward growth at least).
You seem to have found your answer: your lower teeth slant forward, and therefore prevent your chin bone from looking as strong as it should
braces/invisalign should put your teeth in their right position and allow your chin to move forward

'your teeth should look more like this
if youre telling me your upper teeth arent actually slanted,
this could be your lower teeth protrude a lot + your jaw could need a ccw rotation but id need to see ur whole face
but yeah this seems to be your issue, not the chin bone in itself

Thanks - I’ll ask my orthodontist about it next time I’m there. Most annoying thing is I actually already had braces so maybe my lower jaw is crowded or something. My teeth seem most like this shoddy illustration

sometimes teeth extractions + braces is needed in such specific cases of open bites
This is definitely something you should work on with an orthodontist
