Installing both was really easy tbh. Fedora ofc needed a bit of elbow grease for making it work. Some of my system processes of my laptop broke certain dependencies. Install fedora first because you need GRUB to pick up pop os. Not used to a rolling upstream version of Linux before so this should be interesting

@littestjeff1 don't know why you think cosmic is bad seemed perfectly fine to me. I do still prefer vanilla gnome tho. KDE was honestly too much even for me.

Any specific reason for gentoo? Gentoo compile times are so cancer.

use flags portage and complete control also I really wont mind using a different distro as long as I can use DWM I was using arch before gentoo

Pop os for time pass and light work. Fedora was abusing and breaking
I dont know much about devops work, but if you ever want a different more specialised distro for running a server give BSD a try

For me compile times and maintenance overhead aren't worth the trade off. I want to get shit down not spend 2 hours fighting things. That's why I chose fedora close to upstream without me having to be the distro maintainer. I get the appeal of gentoo tho.

if you're comfortable with Gentoo, , and maintaining your own system end to end, you could probably slot into a lot of low level infra or platform roles pretty easily. That kind of control and understanding isn't common. You could get hired for this stuff.

I got really bad grades tho so idk if ill get hired for that, also you should maybe try a window manager if you got time to try it out

I tried out Mint, then this obscure distro called Q4OS, because I wanted to try out the WinXP theme there. Lastly I went to Arch. I tried manually installing, but I was too low IQ to follow the instructions so I gave up and used the archinstall script.

Bro Pop OS is very outdated, they are working on cosmic OS which is supposed to fix the issues but its still in beta.

You need something like Cachy OS

I just use templeOS. God backs up my needs
