cope, front cam ads more definition and more sharpness to the image, things that aren't noticeable to the human eye in motion can be seen through the front cam

For me it was because I was fat as fuck (20% body fat) and mirrors tend to be in good lighting which compensates for the lack of leanness. When I got lean I mogged in pictures because lens distortion had a less significant effect. Essentially, all lighting becomes good lighting and your bones are more highlighted.
