Its not really a getting older thing - well thats a lie of course nobody likes getting older, but its not to the extent most people think. Im only 16, after all.
I dont like telling people about my birthday because normally when someone tells me its theirs, I feel socially obligated to wish them a happy birthday. Its not genuine. It's just an empty gesture.
Additionally I dont like the stress of having to plan out the "perfect birthday" because in the back of my mind I know that when I tryhard something it will end up failing miserably which stresses me out even harder
My ideal birthday is probably just going out to a small family dinner or something, which is what I did this year
