Rn Im in my first year of university, studying engineering, but I feel like there’s no future for me. It’s very hard to get a job and I feel stupid as shit.
A route I can take is becoming a flight attendant, but for that having a degree it’s a major halo (even if it’s not required), and I can’t apply as a student.
Also, Im starting to believe that the degree I study for it’s for a red ocean field.
Is there anything I can do or it’s simply over for me?

If some people believe they have a future in a field and still fail, how can you expect to doubt it and succeed?
Sounds like you're running completely blind in life. How melancholic, but.. maybe you're destined for greater things?

Specify engineering discipline or fuck off.

Electronics, telecommunications and informational technologies. Although I believe is not that relevant to the issue since country matters just as much

That sounds like a good catch-all where you can become software engineer if that keeps booming or fall back on being electrical engineer designing custom PCB and circuitry if it does not. Certainly better than my mechanical.

It’s definitely red ocean though. Generally by the time degrees even exist in a subject, it’s red ocean.

I’ve heard about your experience with getting a degree before. And yeah, that’s what the degree I’m getting is, but still, it’s hard to get jobs and you get paid pretty shitty. And from what I’ve seen programming is way too oversaturated, so that already narrows down my career options

What’s cool about what you’re studying is you could potentially offer full-package solutions self-employed due to the generalisation of it. Assuming you actually learn something useful instead of a bunch of junk equations.

First 2 years you learn only 95% junk equations. Last 2 years you start learning some useful shit on top but you still have to learn a lot on your own. I have actually met the employers that hire from my uni (even tho I’m in my first year) and they want a lot from you while paying peanuts. To this point even my plan B sound better than this

At least ur smart enough to study engineering.

Sounds familiar, engineering is the #1 most exploited profession I think. My company charges my time at £250 an hour and pays me £20. Unfortunately this is just how it is in extremely mature industries.

But it shows the money is kinda there but you NEED to set up on your own somehow.

Yeah, I just got in engineering and I’m kinda overwhelmed, also have other shit on my mind. But I really don’t like this shit, no matter what you do you will get exploited. I think I’m going to try my plan B before getting hired as an engineer, which is being a flight attendant

univ esp engineering is tough and everyone struggles a bit unless they are very high iq.
things could be much worse.
flight attendants is decent idea but lifestyle sucks and you are glorified waiter.
grind through uni and try to get internship and keep high grades.
dont let it fall.
learn something that you want job related to in summer break.

Thanks for the advise. But as a flight attendant I would do 2-3x more money. However, I need a collage degree for being a flight attendant because it’s a big halo, even if it’s not required. And for being a flight attendant I’m lucky because I have a relative that is manager at a airline company

Cucked managers watch out for this, so you don’t fuck the stewardesses, can you rate me tho, and tell me if I could be a flight attendant?
