I agree, the whole “respect is earned” thing didn’t really make sense to me, because like everyone deserves fair treatment

I dont think most people are treated like vermin. Rather they are just considered as economic units, not as humans, in pre AGI world. That rubs people the wrong way but it is what it is. Resources are limited, human desire is not, hence inequality arises
