me too, 4 months of retin a and still getting breakouts, I get pimples in that area too, I added azelaic acid now too and changed my moisturizer, I'll cut out dairy and processed sugars, change pillowcase every night, if that doesn't work then idk.

if i eat fast food or candy ONCE i will get a huge breakout the next 2-3 days so ive dropped them out completely since months.. but still skin is not perfect clear, even when i dont shave i can see the pimples under the hair fuck my life...and when i shave i always get irritated fuck this shit

when i was on antiandrogen skin didnt clear aswell, i still had the same breakouts sometimes even worse maybe

ok, how long do you use retin-a for? It might take up a few months before you start seeing benefits, so if you just started out - be patient, however in my case 4 months in and I still get pimples, that's why think of all the factors that might be causing the acne and eliminate them, you can also add niacinamide or azelaic acid to help fight acne and improve skin texture. Also make sure you use the right cleanser/moisturizer for your skin.

I just looked at pic of my skin from 40 days ago and it have improved a lot.. so use the right products and be patient, if you don't see results just visit a dermatologist..

In the beginning your skin might get worse but after time it will improve, you might experience the 'retin-a purge'(google it) now but don't get demotivated. Or if you are that desperate and impatient visit a dermatologist

Dude you only need to tag me once and I'll respond. I'm at work so its not as if I can sit on here all day waiting for notifications- I'll answer as soon as I can.

How long have you been using the Retin A? And how long have you had a decent skincare routine?
Have you ever seen a dermatologist about them?
Is it just shaving that is the trigger for them or is there other stuff too?
What else have you tried in terms of products?

He said he's been using it for 2 days lol, like what did he expect, to get crystal clear skin overnight?

ok man, sry for the tags

-lke the othe guy said i just started using it this week, i applied it once so far, i go slowly since its 0.05%
-i havent because i thought they were diet and shaving related
-well, i can never get full clear skin i always got some red marks in that area that i want to get rid of .. but when i shave i get more and some looking like white zits too
-i just use a cleanser first thing in my routine, and then i moisturize with the cerave classic (are there any cleansers for breakouts or sth?)

idk man im kind of frustrated and tired of this shit skin, retin-a's main use was for acne and pimples right?

Yeah it's not a fucking magic wand my dude. It's likely going to take a couple of months before you see a difference. And tretinoin has a purge phase too so don't forget about that.
Even if they are shaving and diet related a dermatologist might be able to help and steer you in the right direction.
The difference in them when you shave could be for a few reasons; you might be irritating the skin and its responding with breakouts, you could be causing ingrown hairs which are then looking like or causing a breakout, or you could just be smearing the bacteria from an existing breakout into small wounds in the skin and causing an issue that way.
There are a ton of cleansers made for skin with issues with breakouts, yes. Are you using any SPF?
Initially yes, the main use for tretinoin was for acne.

ill take a look again in that guide, ionly got some questions
when i used to go out, i shaved everyday, how do i exfoliate before shaving, do you mean with a scrub? is aha +bha exfoliating different from a scrub?

i currently use La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanse as my cleanser and the normal cerave as a moisturizer with the hyaluronic acid
should i swap to Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser as my everyday cleanser and La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ for my moisturizer?
btw when i apply the cleanser, i rub it with my fingers, maybe that irritates my face? i always wash my hands before that so idk what happens

i washed with keto shampoo because ive read that i was good for oily and acneic skin and i was super frustrated, it kind of cleared my forehead from small pimples but did nothing for my cheeks, i wont use it again cuz it left me super dry

No, not with a scrub. Yes, AHAs and BHA are very different from using a scrub- they are much more gentle (for the most part, if you're using lower strengths). I'd recommend using something with a gentle AHA (something like the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiace Pads) which will give the added advantage of a closer shave too.

You could switch to the Tata Harper although to be honest if you want to stick with CeraVe they also have a cleanser with BHA in. Yeah I'd say the Effaclar Duo (+) is probably a better option (unless you're in the USA, in which case they have a different formula which isn't the same).

That shouldn't be irritating your face too much.

Yeah it absolutely will leave you super dry.

Unfortunately it might just be one of those things where you might have those issues no matter what products you use. I'd definitely talk to a dermatologist if they are really bothering you though and see what they recommend.
