It'll probably go away. Does it hurt if you try to move your head? Or is it hard to tilt your body without the weight of your head hurting your neck?

Lmao nice one. I injured myself too with 20kg plate last week. Get plate mogged btw.

I'd hold it out for a couple days. See if it gets better. Massage the muscles where it hurts too.

what exactly you did ?

Anyone who goes heavy on neck exercises are fucking idiots, your neck and spine is the last thing you want to get damaged.

Just do lower weight, high reps and high sets.

Maybe not related but never train neck if you have shit posture fix it first, when I trained neck when my posture was shit think I pinched a nerve or smth.

High reps low weight 3x25-33 works best

Exactly there's no need to go heavy on necks since they grow fast af anyway

High reps and correct posture is how everyone should train neck, last thing you want is to do neck exercises with shit form because the weight is too heavy

@lejend does 30kg for 30 reps. How high would you suggest going? 100 reps?

Take it easy. Neck is a super important area so if you strain something it’ll lock up on you hard. It’ll probably get better, just rest it, maybe massage or stretch a bit

You should lower the weight.
Deadlift fixed all my neck and back problems.

Clearly either didn't warm up properly or went too heavy or both.
I've been training neck seriously now for 1 month, I started on 10kg neck curls and now I'm on 30kg for 30+ reps. I've gained ~2.3cm thickness. I'll only go up to 35kg once I can clear 40-50 reps with ease.
You're better off playing it safe.
Can't wait for 50kg neck curls tbh ngl.

Was 2.3 cm a noticeable improvement in how your neck looks?

Yes. Noticeable thickness increase, definition, veins starting to appear.
I'm still going to aim to add another 1-2cm though as I'm not fully satisfied yet.

Take a lightband and do neck extensions and do body weight neck curls it will heal over time and work up slowly. I am up to 110lbs on neck curls and never get injured

Get ready for the bald life

do you tuck your chin when you do it? If not it can cause problems.

What was your starting neck size and you have a long or short neck?

My neck is long and I went from 16 inch to 16.8 in about a month
39cm
it’s a normal-length neck

and good stuff (y)
