I had to remove one of my wisdom teeth because of an infection, what do I do now?

My left wisdom tooth had gotten infected and the infection ate some of my jaw bone away (the dark area highlighted by arrows is bone loss). Due to the tilted eruption, a pocket between the tooth and gum appeared, where bacteria got in. I had to remove the tooth. I didn't get any bone grafting. Does it mean inevitably the bone there will recess? Should I do something now ? My extraction was 4 days ago. Please only factual talk.

Bone graft can prevent recession, and you can buy a tooth implant.

When a tooth is removed, bone loss will occur, because the root is no longer there, meaning nothing can stimulate stem cells and bone maintenance.

Even if no recession occurs, the tooth extraction has created empty space where other teeth can move in, which can cause space between teeth, etc...

You better consult with an actual healthcare professional instead of reading things on the internet, because things like recession and recession degree are 100% individual.

I don't think it will do shit. I lost my molar - it literally fell apart and I shrugged it off. I still got the roots in but I won't remove them so there's something for the bone. Hasn't changed shit. Realistically it will take a long time for bone to reabsorb. Get a bone graft if it bothers you. I'm getting implants in next three years. I got excellent health but my mouth biome is fucked because I'm cavity prone. Implants or death 2027.

Also didn't Ramirez have rotten teeth? Pretty sure he lost plenty of more important teeth i.e. anterior teeth. @Orc has had a lot of extractions too i think?

Ok, this is interesting. I'm cavity prone as well. Did you talk with a Dentist ? Are your roots healthy (not infected) ?

I had a scan for a tooth that was missing 1/4 (chipped off while I slept). It was infected for sure. Whenever I'd eat a lot of heavily processed carbs and sugars I'd get flare ups with infection. If I kept my diet low carb, high fat and sugars almost only from fruit (fructose doesn't really feed bacteria in mouth IIRC) I was fine. It only fell apart due to lack of structure. I had another appointment before it was completely fucked and she said I needed an implant because it's not worth restoring a shitty tooth and doing RCT when it will fail in max 3 years. Right now I have another tooth that needs RCT and potentially a fucked wisdom tooth. I'm saving 10k to get implants when the time is right. My roots are literally exposed rn so I'm careful with not eating trash. I sometimes would get extremely drunk if my teeth bothered me and I wouldn't have issues for weeks.

I'm also considering pulpotomy, there's an Italian dentist that has restored teeth that would normally require RCT without killing the root.

I don't know if this is worth it. Enjoying the food you like seems more important.

I actually enjoy my current diet more. Fruit mog most snacks tbh. Full fat yoghurt with honey is ambrosia.
