it will, it forces your hair strands to be more clumped together, pair the perm with some mousse and curl gel, and your curls will be at least of medium thickness

I don’t want curls though, just thick wavy hair for the shaggy/mod style.

You don’t understand, i’d take straight 1A hair. At least then i’d be able to style it. I’d just middle part it.
