i'll get my braces removed this month and i dont want to get fixed retainers. idea of breaking my fixed retainer alongside with my teeth is scary + i wanna chew gums and eat hard food. but having to wear retainers every night sounds like hell too. idk what to do..

I lost mine and got impressions two months later and have retainers from that and my teeth shifted
1.5y of braces for naught

I was able to stop wearing them nightly too

im talking about fixed/perma retainers. does that wire behind ur teeth hinder you to eat solid food or chew gum?
