I've been on fin for about a month now, I haven't noticed any changes tbh but Ik it takes time.
I was thinking about introducing minoxidil to my stack to help regrow some of my recession.

I am just curious as to where I apply it exactly, I am assuming its at the end of the forehead wrinkles? (When you raise eyebrows the last/highest wrinkle).
I marked out this area with a lip pencil is this the right area?

Also do any users here have much experience with minoxidil for temple regrowth? If so how long did it take you to notice hair starting to regrow, and was there a siginificant amount of damage to the collagen from the tropical minoxidil?

Thanks.

That's not "quite bad hair recession"; it's barely a NW2.
That being said minoxidil helps with regrowth but it takes some time and you will most likely shed in the first months (the follicle has to respond to the minoxidil, push out the current hair, and grow a new one).

Apply it wherever you want to see growth. Just place it on the target area, and rub it for a few seconds to enhance absorption. Keep in mind it works for roughly 40% of people, although Dermarolling (at least 1mm needle) and Tretinoin help turn non-responders into responders.

The science says it works for any area, even if it's most effective on the crown. Regrowth begins after 3-4 months but it's variable, I've experienced regrowth in just 2 months. You have to be consistent though, cause if you stop for too long (1-2 months), the hair will go back to its pre-Minoxidil cycle and you'll shed all the Minoxidil-influenced hair at the same time. Then, the old hair will grow back in its place.

Lastly, as long as the minoxidil doesn't trickle down on your face, there's no evidence it causes collagen damage to the face.

Yeah maybe I overexagurated it a little :ROFLMAO:.

Ok thanks, I do use tret so hopefully I respond well.

How often did you apply it?

Ah thats a relief.

I meant use it on the scalp (where you're going to apply minoxidil). I personally dermaroll once a week with a 1mm needle. It's been scientifically proven to boost minoxidil by quite a lot (and actually generates re-growth by itself, too).

Every day before going to bed, 1ml.

Ah thats a relief.
Obv there are going to be people on reddit etc. who report bloating and facial aging as side effects, but there's no scientific proof those are caused by minoxidil; it's a very safe medication that's been studied for a very long time.
Minoxidil does inhibit collagen production on the scalp to stop fibrosis from happening, but it only happens on the place you put minoxidil, not your entire face. Now if you're using Minoxidil to grow a beard, that's a different story.
Lastly, there is some evidence that it may act as a weak anti-androgen, and this would kind of explain why there are people who revert/stop male pattern baldness from minoxidil alone - although this only happens with mild cases, people with aggressive balding generally won't be able to fight back with just minoxidil.

Ik it helps but once you stop you lose it. Unless you slowly lower your dose over YEARS of use. Anyways here a thread on it, make sure you use a derma roller on the area.

This one is in favor or oral though. I’d suggest starting with topical because you want to regrow a specific area

Ah ok, I'll make sure to apply it on my temples.

I'll look into dermarolling.
Do you know if micro needling produces a similar improvement in reception from minoxidil (Done at same depth)?
When you dermaroll, I guess you wouldnt do it with minoxidil on your face right? Would you not apply it that day?

Ok thanks I'll make sure to use it long term, is there a particular time frame where once you have achieved desired results you can slowly come of of it? Or does it vary alot per person?

dermarolling and microneedling are essentially the same process. I use a dermaroller and simply push it on my scalp instead of physically rolling it (helps avoid tangles). You just need the needles to be at least 0.75mm long to actually penetrate the skin deep enough to reach the follicles. Some people even use 1.5mm needles.

I don't apply minoxidil to my face, only to my scalp.
I dermaroll the scalp where I want to apply minoxidil, wait 30min for the reddening to subside, and then apply minoxidil.

Some people say dermarolling and applying minoxidil within 24 hours increases the risk of minoxidil going systemic, but plenty of experts say this is not true at all and that it's perfectly safe to apply it the same day.
I personally had no side effects, but if you want to be extra careful, wait 24 hours before applying minoxidil.
Then again, it may be that since I use the lower concentration (2%) there are less side effects... it's possible that they're more common in people who use the stronger concentration (5%).

Well topical may not work. Details are in the thread I sent. Although from what I’ve heard, your hair grows in and looks weird and bad and then eventually it looks normal. This would take 1-4 months for some decent growth

the scalp (where you're going to apply minoxidil).
With the tret and minoxidil, do you apply them at the same time, one after another in your evening routine?
