Why do people hold older people or even 'experts' in such reverence.

They have only lived once, this is their first time living. Basically everyone has went through something extremely embarassing or has done something evil/disgusting.


I am beginning to look down on the human race, there really is no one currently alive who I can say without a doubt should be held in reverence.
