Why are we religious?
Because we fear death.

Why do we fear death?
Because it threatens our very existence.
The fear of the unknown.
The fear of separation — from your partner, your family, your friends, your dog, your cat.
The fear of becoming nothing.

Why do we seek an afterlife?
To transcend into another existence.
To escape the finality.
To believe that something — anything — continues.

But if we were cyborgs,
If our minds could upload, our bodies could be repaired, our lives extended beyond decay,
We wouldn't fear death.
We wouldn’t need to believe.
We wouldn’t need religion.

Because what is religion,
if not our best technology
for coping with impermanence?

Eventually, the sun will swell and swallow Earth.
Everything we know — gone.
No temple, no server, no hard drive survives that.

So we must go further.

What if we could upload consciousness — not to a machine,
but to light?
Convert the self into waves.
Radiate through the universe.
Exist as signal.

Not bound by form.
Not chained by biology.
Not trapped by gravity or time.

A consciousness scattered among the stars,
whispering through the void,
forever.

Not heaven.
Not reincarnation.
Not a soul.

Something new.
Something beyond even religion.
A final evolution:
From flesh to frequency.
