I have overjet + over bite + impacted canines, causing my protruding mouthDo you have an overjet? show teeth front and side profile fully open lips. you have black pheno lips from the side for some reason
Most likely the reason, although could be genetics too. Id get that checked with an ortho and fixed. I also have the same thing kind of but not really but my top lip is slightly ahead of my lower because of my overjetI have overjet + over bite + impacted canines, causing my protruding mouth
I am positive I was born without defects I just got super unluckySounds brutal but you're 100% sure you don't have a birth defect? With this type of thing as well as your eye spacing and other facial features they are very prevalent in cases of birth defects.
Mouth protrusion! I never knew the term. Thank you.View attachment 4175973completely fucks my side profile
I don't really think it's caused by the mandible or maxilla, but more due to dental issuesMouth protrusion! I never knew the term. Thank you.
Also have an issue like this but just less extreme than your case, do you know what bones are responsible for this?

He will have insane malocclusion. Poor thing. Le bimax. My guy has a convex philtrum @imontheloose

Do you mind showing me?unfortunately my case isn't severe enough for any surgery according to my ortho. just braces
sure, but showing what?Do you mind showing me?
A side shot of your teeth whilst in their natural bite, or better (if you ortho gave you a lateral ceph or something).sure, but showing what?

however I think the main issue causing it are my impacted caninesA side shot of your teeth whilst in their natural bite, or better (if you ortho gave you a lateral ceph or something).
I can’t see much, but looks like class II, div 1. Your philtral column is absolutely convex as @chadisbeingmade describes it. It’s going to be lip-strain from that upper incisor protrusion I bet.View attachment 4176069this is the best photo I can take at the time, but i can see if i can get a better picture tomorrow
I highly doubt this is the case. Maybe indirectly from crowding, but the canine itself won’t make that philtrum bulge; if it were the case that your canines were impacting anything, it would usually manifest as a lateral canine-fossa bulge instead.however I think the main issue causing it are my impacted canines
if I can get a CBCT I will send it. I'll try to avoid any extractions, but since that would be the cheapest option, my parents will probably opt for it.I can’t see much, but looks like class II, div 1. When the uppers sit forward and/or tipped out, the orbicularis oris has to contract to get a seal; that muscle pressure bulges the “central” upper lip so the philtrum reads convex. Your lower lip will catch behind the upper incisors usually (a lip-trap), deepening the labiomental fold too.

Not going to be bimax-tier unless jaw discrepancy is spotted which your ortho probably ruled out. In all honesty, they might go the safe route of premolar extractions which isn’t what you want. Perhaps TAD-anchored mechanics of sorts (?), they do these in aligners/braces I’m aware of, but not sure of what else, or if they’re even suitable for you / if your ortho is qualified to use them.

Would love a CBCT if you get/have one.
