General painkillers such as paracetamol can also be used to relieve headaches, especially if you're having a headache. Let's say the "necessary" thing is an antiemetic, but in general, you can die simply with sodium nitrite and water. It's strongly recommended, however, to drink additional sodium nitrite if you vomit.
