My hatred of uncertainty is why I can flirt with a foid I know has a husband no problem, yet I have a cripplingly difficult time asking out a single foid.

With the foid who has a husband, at least I already know ahead of time I have no chance with her (so the flirting is all fun and games). When trying to take my flirts to the next level with (and ask out) a single foid, on the other hand, the fun and games turn into uncertainty (uncertainty of whether she'll say yeah, how long the relationship will last even if she says yeah, what I'm going to need to do in order to keep her, etc)

That's primarily what I mean by uncertainty (being uncertain of what her answer will be)

The other factors (how long will I keep her, what will I need to do to keep her, etc) only come into play if her answer is yeah...which it hardly ever is
