I look soooo much better with lens distorted face in my selfie camera than I do with the frontal one.

With that in mind, would you consider a normal straight selfie to be... catfishing? My pfp on ig is a normal selfie and idk what to do about it

But why do you look better with lens distortion? Do you have an overly compact mid face and a short skull with close set eyes? For me, my midface is longish, skull is a bit long, and eyes are a tiny bit close set, and I look like a horse in selfies, although my ESR becomes perfect in them.
