You’re constantly learning, but I miss learning shit like in school.

I’m in a job which requires 0 intellect or mental challenge, and I think I have become dumber. Work your brain or let it atrophy tbh

Also not all Engineering and Tech jobs are fun. Like in my devops job I literally had to stare at screen for most of the day. While I rotted on .org and if something broke I jumped in and fixed it. That part was interesting. It's essentially problem solving under pressure but it's never repetitive which can both be a pro or con. While it is intellectually stimulating to solve new problems every day, it can get quite frustrating when you get the same error again and again and can't solve it in the first hour or so.

Have you tried learning hard stuff? Not just face value work shit. I work at an engineering field and I felt like this for a couple of years until I stopped lying to myself and tackled on actual knowledge and not just learning tools or systems to solve problems.

Oh hell no, office jobs no matter what field are some of the most boring shit ever, im talking about stuff like being a car engineer or jet mechanic or maybe designing something mechanically/electrically
Atleast that's what im into, not the software programming office 9 to 5 shit

I actually mechanical engineering is much better than tech in that regard. You build cool stuff that exist in real life and get to test it in real life and solve problems that aren't just google click away

This is true aswell. Some of abstract concepts in engineering math are genuinely quite frustrating to learn.

I have no doubt.

Indians? Actually no. Although there basically isn’t a single Indian i’ve seen at the uni. Autists however, yeah.
At my uni everyone who did engineering was Indian or Chinese. We had a lot of Chinese students for some reason

then quit the job, learn. Be an entrapraneur.

I gave up a good job to live a riskier, albeit more challenging and more fun career as an entrapraneur :p

Yeah this is why you in this world can't find a single challenge to entertain your brain thus starts a thread in this forum.
Philosophy doesn’t challenge your brain. It’s just searching for something with no answer

There's more to philosophy than metaphysics. You can study history then realize to study history you need to understand how history works then you start studying the philosophy of history and so on realize that, for every single branch of the bigger tree, all comes from a single root so to understand the particular you need to understand the whole. Dismissing the particular in search for a greater truth is for idiots. The delight in learning can only be achieved through this curiosity

trust me it isn't sunshine and rainbows, i often have to budget more than what i used to. However with years of work for myself I will be the benefactor, not my boss.

And, autonomy is the most important thing.

I wanted to learn javascript this month as a passion project, and that I did. I have no constraints to my time, it belongs to me.

I felt the same way stuck in a 9-5, they will educate you with only the essentials to be efficient at your job, and then any self development isn't paid for.

Learning is growing , and I truly believe when you stop learning, you die . Not physically, but you become stagnant, not progressing through life.

Here is a quote -

"only the dead salmon go with the flow of the river"

and that is the strategy of most in life, to go with the flow

I am very much blackpilled, and I agree with lifes genetic determinism. But , genetics only present people with constraints.

Most are operating nowhere near their contraints anyway,.

And in this modern world, we can cheat genetics

I am blackpilled yes, but I am a strong advocate of being competetive, and pushing to be the best

I am glad my words inspired you

I was a cook for three years, and while that sort of job doesn't require much intellect or learning past a certain point it does build character. Now I got a job taking care of adults of all ages who've had traumatic brain injuries.

My current job is much better because it builds character and you're also required to use your brain in complicated circumstances. One day I might be wiping an 80 year old paralytic man's ass and showering him and another I might be talking a 42 year old man child out of a mental breakdown in the middle of Walmart where he's destroying stuff. Gotta learn a lot about medications, narcotics, first aid, and all sorts of contingency plans for various scenarios as well.
