I wouldn't know how it feels. My parents always taught me discipline when I was young. My recommendation is to get rid of the things that are affecting you and weakening this trait and punishing yourself or forcing somebody else to do it for you so you can't change your mind. Assuming that is what you're talking about. Good luck.

1. Know what is the actual problem is. Sometimes the root cause is the thing that you would be expecting the least tbh.
2. Work on removing the things from your life that cause hindrance. For example if you are struggling with a porn addiction just stop scrolling too much on IG because you know what I am saying. That app has become too much comfortable nowadays with soft porn and OF.
3. Make a journal and write down the things you did one the first day, make sure to repeat them on the second day too. One of the components of discipline is legit consistency. I stayed consistent while studying for my UNI exams and cracked it!!
4. Believe in what you're doing tbh.
That's it!!
hope this helps :p:p:D:D:LOL:

the only real way to stay consistent is to just force yourself
if you don't want to do what it takes, then its already over

Your dopamine receptors are fried from gambling. I would start by joining gamblers anonymous and quit this habit before you kill yourself

This is deeply engraved in your child core. In your brain. Your brain grew to be this way.
There is no fix.
My best advice is aderall

A lot of great advice, OP, in this thread. All this is good for discipline for the long-term, and staying consistent after you have developed a shred of it.

But initially I was at one point where you are rn, and I could not even penetrate the barrier for doing the tasks initially.
What helped me was for a week straight, everyday I had a bunch of tasks written on a paper like a checklist of sorts, that I would carry around with me (alongside a pen), and tick off the boxes.

Have EVERYTHING you will do during the day. Make sure it's a checklist, you will enjoy the idea of ticking the boxes off. The main thing is, you don't have a time period to do them. Your goal in the day is to just tick off all the boxes. If you complete you are done!

The only time, time would be involved is like: "I will brush my teeth in the morning"

After a few days of this (do 1 week minimum), you will have enough discipline to follow the advice that a lot of others here have given you. And it would solidify in your nature

Remember, this is a checklist. Write down every task you want to complete during the day. You have the option about how you want to juggle it around for yourself, just make sure they are complete first and foremost

After 1 week of successfully doing this, ping me. I'll tell you your next step.
This worked for me, it will work for you too.

You're a fucking retard

Of course you dont HAVE to do the thing.
Instead you need to SPEND countless of hours THINKING about the THING. AND ACHIEVE NOTHING.

Just read a 10 hour long course on discipline.

Why don't you do things? Because of pain. Putting yourself through pain makes your anterior mid cingulate cortex grow larger, which strengthens your force of will and improves brain health and longevity, you can also train the amygdala with cognitive control exercises such as the stroop test.
I'd recommend reading a book on the psychological aspects of improving discipline, such as this one

You can't, it's all copium, if u didnt develop the brush my teeth everyday as a kid, you won't develop it later if not out of necessity e.g. losing 2 teeth and now you have to brush them to not lose the remaining ones.
