So 24th July I have a job interview for Home bargains as a store assistant it's a new store that's opening about next month so I need some tips from you guys who have been in interviews and got the job some advice. Am already doing my research on tips right now and I went to a course in February that teaches employability and interview skills so I have a good base already. But I want your guys opinions so post down below and be serious guys it's a friendly discussion. I heard from my lecturer in my employability course that if you get an interview your like 90 percent there but the 10 percent it's all about really selling yourself from there. Yeah people make split second judgements but saying that chad gets the job without saying anything or having really weak answers has terrible body language has a neck tattoo or is just comes of as really nervous in the interview is just wrong

Try and sound NT and like a normal person. If you sound like a person who goes on looksmaxxing forums online then they won't like you. Job interviews at these places are just like everything else, it doesn't matter if you actually know anything or have any skills, as long as the interviewer likes you then you will be fine. Answer the questions quickly and dont spend a bunch of time thinking about them. You want to sound like you have your life together and you are a hard worker.

For example it sounds better to respond to “whats your greatest strength” with something like “im a hard worker and i can fix any problem I come across, i think my greatest strength is being able to deal with problems right away” instead of “.....hmmm..umm...well.. I think my greatest strength is probably something like fixing problems.. you know?”

Words and phrases like “probably” “i guess” “well i suppose” are no good, just say yes or no with succinct explanations.

I worked alongside hiring managers at 3 different places and they all said similar things to this. Obviously its not the holy grail but its pretty good to make people think you are a good employee
