Do whatever you want and put maximum effort even if it's hard. You mentioned a redo in high school which I think means you feel regret the things you did during those times. What's done is done looking back at the past and wishing diffrent will drain your mentally ( I used to do this ) .

But you have the NOW and I'm guessing you don't want this phase of your life to be filled with regret aswell so just do whatever you want to do and push yourself.
