I've never had to deal with any racism in California at best some mild prejudices which came from other ethnics than whites. My boss, coworkers, even random people I meet have been nothing but nice to me. My boss would mentor me when he there was no need for him to do it. My co workers would buy me beer after work

Random people would come up and wave to me greeting me good morning despite being a foreigner. Many people would randomly conversation with me . I even made a thread about it

Some incidents I remember

Old white lady at Trader Joe's "Good morning, sweetheart! Love your shirt!"

Random dude at the gas station "Hey man, I love your blazer where'd you get those?"

Cashiers asked me where I'm from and then say "Welcome we're glad you're here." Now that I'm back I felt more welcome there than here

The only "prejudice" I've ever felt. From other immigrants and i wouldn't even call it racism more like misunderstanding. Where is this supposed racism? About the west being a warzone for ethnics. You speak politely and people reply back politely to you. You show people kindness and they show kindness back.

Yea tbh. Racism irl is very much a thing but it’s more in there mind. A lot of people probably wouldn’t want to say that stuff to someone publicly

There are less in the united states and were you born there? Do you have an accent or smell bad (no offense in that regard)

but thats the main thing they hate here in Canada, the accent and rudeness of specifically Punjabi or Indian people.

Nobody hates anybody here for no reason really, unless ur drunk or high. Like in the US.

I mean yea. I mean I’m not from American but from what I know is that the south is more conservative and less accepting to foreigners, maybe it’s a stereotype from movies and the civil war.

im 6'0 so im pushing it by considering myself tall, but most of the people saying stuff are usually 5'7 guys tryna joke around or something, usually not anything serious

Ong though after living in an area maybe that’s 70% Asian I’m convinced atleast like 50% of Asians have autism they’re the biggest snakes too and the Asians can’t drive stereotype is very real more real than any other stereotype

Being tall is such a halo because if you are ugly as shit, people will leave you alone.

But if you are ugly and short. BRUTAL. You are getting bullied by both men and women

Like the idea is racism irl vs online
people typically arent confrontational in person tbh and they just vent all their pent up autism on the internet thus the disparity you are noticing
