Actually makes me want to do my work and Im too used to the polished interface and creature comforts to let it go. In theory everything that it does can be done for free but it’s about the polish, cohesion, the flow. It’s like coffee. You can get caffeine cheaply anywhere but people still spend ridiculous money for better coffee because the experience makes the routine more enjoyable, so they stick with it

The cost is trivial compared to 2-3 hours saved per week. Theres a reason it is one of the most popular and people and companies pay thousands of dollars for it

What makes it so worth it?

Mainly the refactoring and debugger. It has built in database tools with history, built in git version control all inside the ide. Its debugger is vastly superior to vscode it can also do deep language aware analysis and has support for Claude code, codex, copilot and even it's own Junie. Once you get used to these things it's very hard to come back.

it boost productivity, number 1 by paying this amount u kinda feel like u have to commit to it and number 2 idk really how those things work but maybe there is a digital currency system kinda in that app which makes it addictive in a postive way (honestly i have no idea what im saying)
