I regret not applying myself more in sports or academics

I could’ve gone D1 or been an NCAA athlete in track-and-field, given that I ran elite cross country times in middle school. After the coronavirus, I focused more on sports such as baseball and basketball in high school, despite the fact that running is my natural strength. Also, given my natural athleticism, I know I could’ve been a student-athlete in America, in at least some bullshit sport.

I also regret not trying harder in school. I always scored very high on standardized testing throughout my youth, usually scoring in the 98th-99th percentile on the math sections of the state exams. I’ve always been pretty bright and one of the best students in my class. However, I started to lose motivation during high school, leading me to underperform. I hate knowing that given my IQ and natural intellect, I could’ve gone to an Ivy level school. The school I go to now is pretty good, although it’s not good enough for elite networking connections.

It’s brutal knowing I have great genetics, but I never really applied myself.
