2 summers ago, i was walking at 10pm with two friends and it was time to go home, but i wanted to drop off the friend who lives closest first, for this we needed to cross the street. however, he refused and said lets bring the other friend first and so we did.
literally five econds later, i heard a loud thud noise and friend 2 was audibly shocked. my eyesight was absolutely shitty so i couldnt really make shit out, i thought some car hit some bike and that the empty baby seat just fell off and was lying on the ground. the car drove away even faster from the crime scene.
friend 2 runs over there and i follow him and so does friend 1. i could now see clearly that some dude was hit, he was crossing the street at a designated crossing space, but he looked young.
there was blood coming out of his head, legs twitching and so were his eyes. and he wasnt really moving or doing anything. i thought he was 17 but he was 19, we later found out.
my friend was panicking and yelled at bystanders to call an ambulance, and i calmly tell him hes got a phone himself, that he should make the call and so he does.
anyway dude goes into a coma and dies a couple of days later. he was an identical twin brother. just finished high school.
when my friend was talking to the cops, he asked if it was normal that he was this shocked and the cop says "i would be more worried if you werent" and then he glances at me, and im like "ah fuck hes seeing right through me" and i just nod in agreement while i comfort my friend.
rest in peace, kiddo. rest in peace.
