I am much more concerned about here and now. I live day by day and wish to make the most out of my life, without worrying about the afterlife. I don't wish to be bound by the rules of sins or the bible. If God truly exists and i am condemned to eternal damnation then so be it. "Can't be bothered" Is a good saying for this.

By all means i respect all religious people, religion gives hope to some and is hated by others, but me, i simply just don't care.

My father is a Jehovas Witness, my mother is a christian, and most of my friends are atheist. Every single one of them keeps trying to sway me to their side :dafuckfeels: My dad is always telling me that he respects my opinion but is deeply saddened that his son is "going to die in the Armageddon", and I'm like "wtf?" because what kind of fearmongering tactic is that :ogre: If my father believes that his son could be brutally murdered by jesus any day now, then what kind of religion is this? Out of all beliefs in the world, the one i could never understand are jehovas witnesses.

People nowadays can't leave you to live the way you want to live it. The best kind of religious men are the ones that preach their opinion but don't scold or force anyone to behave according to their beliefs. These people i can understand - They believe in the existence of a god and wish for everyone to know his word, i get that. But if someone simply doesn't care then leave them be :dafuckfeels: I'm so tired of being fed christian shit everywhere i go.

Althusser once said that it is a mistake to discuss the existence of God as if it were part of knowledge. Therefore, the debate about whether God exists or not is endless and pointless, as it is a matter of belief and faith, not of truth or knowledge. For this reason, discussing it is futile and unnecessary.

This isn't much of an argument than just a mindset i have. I'll never argue whether a God exists or not because "IDGAF" :Comfy:

Well said. I never understood people arguing whether a God exists. I've seen it countless of times and it was always a waste of time.

Meh.. Not really, i know a lot of successful and intelligent people that believe in the God.

The bad part about religion is that only a small percentage of religious people are actually faithful. Most of them are there for the benefits, the muh "forgiving sins" and "going to heaven". When in reality they couldn't GAF less about god.

I know a lot of people that are exactly like this.

I believe in god but it doesn’t really affect my day to day life in any way. You have a point though, you shouldn’t focus too much on stuff that doesn’t matter/affect you.

Also when I make a thread like this it gets 3jfls and I have to edit it out :feelsbadman: guess I don’t have enough aura on looksmaxing forums

Dnr unfortunately but main peoples reason for being atheist is cause theres no proof of god, ive always had the mindset however that its all completely faith. They put their faith in god. Its not meant to be scientific but almost out of our understanding. Not sure where i stand with religion though.

They do question things, my father always told me he questions god and his decisions all the time but he stays faithful to him. I was still raised as religious so i still remember the lessons taught and i sorta get it.

Yeah there's plenty of disgusting shit that happened AND is happening right now. If i think of the worst thing I've ever seen, there's a million things that happened and are even worse.

There's a lot of debates about it, the argument "if God is real then why would he allow this to happen?".. I never really got an anwser to this question.

You have plenty of time to figure it out bhai. Best advice to me is to do what your faith tells you to do. I was raised as a jehovas witness and never in the 14 years i was religious have i ACTUALLY believed in the existence of a god, which is why i have this stance now, because I've seen both of the sides.

Interesting. I am of the belief that the overwhelming majority of people who claim to be religious have no true affinity to their beliefs and are only abiding by the imprinted identity as ‘someone who is a muslim, christian etc’ that they have always had growing up. It feels uncomfortable to create a new identity for yourself, hence why the majority of ‘religious people’ don’t bother.

If someone was a true christian or muslim, I feel they would be absolutely insufferable to be around because they would never shut up about it. Yet, most of the religious people I meet shamelessly commit ‘sins’ like smoking and vaping, while completely ignoring their identity as a ‘believer’ whenever it’s convenient.

I'm 18 now, when i was around 14-15 i was exposed to a lot of truth about the religion i was in (jehovas witnesses, it's barely a religion, more like a cult). And since i wasn't a believer anyway i decided "yeah this is completely bullshit and a waste of time"
