I always got in trouble for putting weird questions in class, like even in the first years of school I would ask: "Why do we learn this?", "What's the point of learning math/history/chemistry/etc.?", "How does this help us in real life?", etc...Teachers usually got mad because they couldn't answer.

”Because the educational institution is telling us to teach it”

Didn't you ever question the world around you, or why we do certain things in a certain way? I would ask tons of questions as a kid about everything, but as I grew up, people started to behave more and more strange and be uncomfortable when I would ask them delicate questions.

Like for example once in religion class, the teacher showed us a map, with all the religions of the world and the number of followers, and it didn't seem right to me that our religion(Orthodox Christianity) which was supposed to be the only true and real religion had so few followers. And when I asked how come there are more Muslims and Catholics in the world, and what if they are right and we are wrong, all the class laughed, looked at me like I was crazy, and the teacher became very nervous...
He said that ours is the true religion because "orthodox" comes from Ancient Greek: "orthos" means right, and "doxa" mean faith, therefore orthodoxy is the right faith. He wrote this on the table and gave us a home assignment to write this down 100 times in our notebooks, which made all the class look at me with hate.
Does this seem right to you? I mean anyone could have called their religion first "orthodoxy" and claim they are actually the right fate, but I don't think there was any point in arguing more with the teacher, he would have probably pulled out some other bullshit arguments and more homework.
